Hi,

I recently got a 3yr extension from my Company(6 yrs completed) since my Labor and I-140 is cleared, My question is can I transfer my H1 to another company, if yes how many yrs of extension I will get and what will be my GC status, can I transfer the priority date to the new company.

Hi,

A couple of events are happening in my life now:

* My current L1-B expires in June
* I am getting married in April - So I am traveling to India in April, returning in May.
* My company is planning to apply for my L1-B extension.
* My future wife will try to get her L2 in April, after our marriage, planning to come with me in May.

I hear that i am not supposed to be traveling while the L1-B is being extended. I also hear that the consulate may reject L2 if the L1 is about to expire.

1. Are these above rumors true ?

2. Is there a problem if my company applies for my L1-B extension and I travel to India at the same time ?

An interesting segment from ABC News' John Quinones. This is from the "What Would You Do?" series and the question explored is how customers in a restaurant will react to a security guard asking Latinos for their identification in a restaurant in southern Arizona. While the Arizona law has not yet taken effect and only applies to police officers and not security guards, ThinkProgress' Wonk Room rightly points out the threshold for stopping people is very low and it is pretty easy to envision these kinds of situations playing out.

Senator Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) must be rolling in his grave. The conservative Republican senator from Arizona ran for President in 1964 on a platform condemning "Big Government". As a kid, I read Goldwater's "Conscience of a Conservative" and came away with a strong conviction that America was founded on the principle of individual freedom, and that no matter what the perceived threat was, internal or external, American citizens should beware of "trusting the government" rather than upholding our rights as individuals.
