    My friend John Lamb in Nashville blogs today about ICE's Hutto detention center where whole families are jailed while awaiting deportation. I'm reminded of Charles Dickens' tales of debtors prisons in Victorian England where "lawbreakers" who violated British laws relating to debt were jailed right along with their spouses and children. It's hard for me to tell the difference. I don't know that I blame CCA, the contractor that runs the center. Nor do I necessarily blame ICE which is simply carrying out their mission. The country's policymakers carrry responsiblity - senior DHS officials, White House officials, members of Congress,...

    How do I find out who gave me the "RED" reputation, I am a harmless person not making any personal comments on anybody in this forum, wonder why someone gave the red to me .     My mother is a GC holder since 91. I came to US in 2002 on F1 and then H1 and now GC.

    Will the fact that my mom was a GC holder and I did not use that impact my GC? I have answered all the questions correctly(true i mean) always.

    I hyphenated my name while I was applying for a green card. All of my Canadian documents like my passport and my Canadian photo ids like my Ontario drivers license and health card are all in my maiden name. Can I bring my green card alone with no other documents or do I need some other government issued id? The only thing that has my current name is my green card. What do I need to get a license.

    I am confused with AP expiration date.

    The printed exiration date is :July 29, 2009
    But my latest paroled stamp on AP it is : Dec 05, 2009.

    Which date should i follow to renew my AP?

    I applied for AP and EAD renewal in July 2010. I need to go to India by Oct 1st week for some personal work which can not wait beyond that time.
    I am planing to expidite my AP if I wont get AP by then. What can I do with my EAD?

    - Do I need to be present in US for EAD or I can leave US and ask my friend send EAD to India when it gets approved?
    - If I go to India before EAD approval and if I am called for finger printing what are my options? Like, if I dont/cant come by the finger printing appointment date what happens ?

    I appreciate for your reply.

    My I-140 cleared on last month, also I applied for 3 year's visa extension, got receipt. Now I want to change company, I got a got offer from a big company. My question is
    1. If I'll apply H1-b from new company , how many years visa I'll get(With current I-140)?
    2. Is it possible to keep PD of my current GC (Aug'03)? even in case of my current company revoke/use my GC?

    Hi I am going to india on july and I need to get my h1 visa stamped as the previous one expired and at the same time my wife needs to get her h4 visa stamped
    now when i return back i am planning to bring my parents on short trip
    my question
    1.Is it possible to book appoinments for h1,h4,b1 at one shot (one day)
    2. Will there be any issue if we go in group in combination of many visa
    requesting your valuable inputs

    Hi,

    I currently am on F1 Visa- OPT valid till June 2011.
    My employer will file for H1 this April.
    If my H1 is rejected for any reason, will I be eligible to work on F1 - OPT visa?
